Brandon Shaver - Head Coach

Coach Brandon Shaver is entering his first season as head coach for the Lake Travis High School men's basketball program.  He also teaches CAVS 401.

He comes to Lake Travis High School from Sulphur Springs High School were his team won 31 games last season and made it to the regional tournament. They were 59-18 during the two years he coached at Sulphur Springs High School. Coach Shaver has also served as the head coach at Pine Tree and Central. He won his 100th game last season, which was his 5th year as a coach.

Coach Shaver and his wife, Megan, have three children. His son Jaxon is 17, Kade is 15, and Bryce is 11.

John Stanczak - Junior Varsity Head Coach & Varsity Assistant

Coach Stanczak is entering his seventh year as a teacher and coach at Lake Travis HS.  He teaches U.S. History and is the Head JV Coach, as well as the Offensive Coordinator for the Varsity.  In the spring, Coach Stanczak is an assistant track coach. 

Prior to coming to Lake Travis, Coach Stanczak was at Texas State University.  He completed an internship with the men’s basketball program under head coach Danny Kaspar and received his B.S. in Applied Sociology. 

Coach Stanczak and his wife, Elizabeth, have two children.  His daughter, Brooklyn, is 13 years old and his son, JJ, is 4 years old.


Jerrick Massenburge-Freshman Coach & Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Massenburge is entering his first season as a Lake Travis High School basketball coach. He has coached at several Texas high schools including one year at Pine Tree High School in Longview, Texas and two years at Sulphur Springs High School in Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Coach Mass attended Mid America Christian University and was a part of the basketball team from 2014-2017. In 2016, he and his team won the National Championship.

In his spare time, Coach Mass enjoys fishing and golf.

Timothy Flanders-Freshman Coach & Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Flanders is a coach for basketball and football at Lake Travis High School.

Prior to beginning his coaching career, he was in the NFL & CFL for 8 years. From 2014 to 2022 he was with the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, Omaha Mammoths, BC Lions, Winnnipeg Blue Bombers, Calgary Stampeders, and the Ottawa Redblacks. Coach Flanders played college football at Sam Houston University. He currently holds over 30 school records and 5 Southland Conference records and was a two-time finalist for the Walter Payton Award which is equivalent to the FBS Heisman for FCS. He graduated from Sam Houston University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Business in MIS. He also holds an Associate Degree in Cyber Security from Eastern Gateway Community College. 

He was a two-sport athlete playing football and baseball at Midwest City High School in Midwest City, Oklahoma. While a student at Midwest City High School, Coach Flanders was the Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year in 2009.

His significant other is Cameron Chalmers, who is the Athletic Trainer at the high school. They have three wonderful children, Jaden, Gianna & Messiah.
